So my first round of the three rings of death is upon me. I'll be out of action for a while, but I should be around the forums.

Dropkill, no worries man. I got the ring of death and I will wait my turn just like every one else on the planet for MS to fix thier faulty product.

I haven't got the RRoD yet. I put that new Xbox 360 condum on last night....lol...hopefully it works

It took mine two years. The kids were watching movies on it and left it running all night, then tried to play games in the morning. Screen froze to this checkered pattern, then just died. I've plugged it back in a couple of times and it goes straight to the rings of death.

Well mine started working again after a three day spell of the RROD.

I was actually wondering what you were planning on doing about that, Gillsy. How long was it RRoD-ing before it started working?

3 days. I would plug it in once a day just to see if I could get some 360 time and the RROD was there all three times. Then on the fourth day...it works just fine. Been using it ever since. 3 days and running.

i would go ahead and send it back man, it will happen again. unless you wanna try some other things to do, i have some things that you could do that might just work.

I agree with DropKill, go ahead and send it back, better to be safe then sorry.

I probably will. I just pray that MS does not just plug it in, see it work, put in box, ship back with having done nothing.

they shouldnt do that but um yeah.....it is microsoft we are talking about here. so i wouldnt put it past them, but look on the bright side, if they do that then you can just send it back, and 9 times out of ten when a xbox 360 is sent back twice in one year they give you a elite for all the trouble.

That would be worth it. I'll ship it out first thing in the morning. lol

Like I said before. I just hope they do something with it and not ship it back untouched because they could not get the RRoD to happen.

Well, I shipped it off this morning. Had a few rounds of COD4 with Rubber Bullets...pissed me off, played a little Rock Band...I suck at it, pissed me off, then could not find a server on BF2MC..pushed me over the edge.

I boxed that Mother Fer up and shipped it out.

Well I ended up with a red light tonight... after a little more than 2 years I think. Since it's not the 3 red lights, MS won't fix it for free. F-ing communists. I'm kinda pissed... now I'm stuck with the decision... do I send it in and have them fix it for $100 or whatever it's going to cost... or do I just plurge and buy a new system all together? Either way it might take a while. I'm a damned college student again, which means I'm poor again. lol. Any advice?

Hey Goiter, mine RRoD for three days then started working fine. As is, I sent it as though it had the RRoD. When they plug it in I'm positive it will not RRoD for them.

Mine should be to the Texas repair center in a day or two and I assume if there is an issue they will contact me. If they fix or replace for no charge I'll let you know so you can just lie like a mother F'er and get them to fix it.

I just don't know how long it will take for them to figure out what they are going to do. If you have the money, does not sound like it, just get an Elite.

Yea yea yea... I probably jinxed myself sayin how it was my first 360 and hadn't died yet. SOB! I'm out of town now anyways... so I'll take care of the problem when I get home. dropKill said it's probably just my video card... or said it is, whatever. I need to find someone to just fix it for me. bwahaha! Yea, I might just end up getting the elite. Oooo.... Black Box... I wish it had been the 3 red rings though. Then they'd fix it for free... cheap A-holes.

Mine lasted almost about a year and a half. RK1 is going through another mass RRoD epidemic. They come in waves, kinda freaky.

Well mine is still listed as "Device Received at Service Center". Been that way for over a week now.

Goiter, what's up with yours? I assume you sent it in by now. Any word on it yet?

Gillsy, how long until you start drawing up the lawsuit paperwork?
